The smart and sparkling Khum Khantoke
restaurant complex near Carrefour on Superhighway was host to 50 smart,
sparkling cars on November 16th, taking part in the latest local Family
Rally.
No-one was looking
when our scribe tried (and failed) to open a 2002 car with a 1964 key!
After a varied tour, collecting information and finding route check
points in beautiful scenery around Lamphun, Sankampang and Doi Saket the
families returned to a sumptuous buffet and awards ceremony.
Fantastic value at only 1,200b for 2 people for the whole day - including
food! Among the many award winners was Khun Sirichoke Jiamsakulsak whose
new Alfa Romeo 156 entered by Chanasilp Motors was judged 'Most
Beautiful Car' and, in sharp contrast, David Hardy who won the 'Spirit
of the Sport' award with the Good Morning Chiangmai News 1964 Alfa
Giulia. Event sponsors included Khum Khantoke, Singha and Team
Bodyshop, who also did the smooth organisation.
