CHIANGMAI POOL LEAGUE
AND THE LOSERS NOW JUST MANAGED
TO WIN….. …..'cos the times they are a-changin!
Call it beginners' luck, fluke, serendipity, what have you, but on
the momentous night of September 20th, Chiangmai Pool League losers
December Bar somehow got their act together and beat clear leaders Rock
Hard Bistro 5-4 on their own table.
Maybe because Rock Hard Hogan was away, maybe because December sneaked
in the first 2 singles wins, maybe shmaybe
it was a momentous turn around for the Thapae Gate team who had enjoyed
only one previous win all season so far!
Rock Hard maintain their League lead of course, 61 games won (9pts)
against 56 by Hiss & Slither and Flamingo, tieing for
2nd (8pts each) at time of going to press with former leaders Lucky
Bar (3 games and 2 pts down) trailing in 4th.

But most of the excitement late last month was down in the cheap seats,
after December team leader Grahame, fresh back from the outback and fortified
by huge doses of genuine Aussie fish n'chips, vowed his team would NOT
finish last. Playing a slow, steady game (and, it has to be said, aided
by Lady Luck and some Rock Hard nerves which were less than that) he led
a Thai-Aussie-Swiss-Brit combo to a giant killing win. Mr A, Dang, Duan
and Jurgen excelled, but David 'Dunce' Hardcopy was declared The Weakest
Link, the only Decemberer to lose both his games, and banished to the reserves
bench until further notice.
Mad Dog leads Up2U and TF Café mid-league
in 5th, 6th and 7th places with Home to Roost, December and Viking
Bar all now fighting NOT to be last. More info? Visit any of the participating
bars (get a game maybe?) or just e-mail to: cmtrueblue@hotmail.com
